It was hard to enjoy the quiet corners of the exhibit that, in retrospect, seems like a missed opportunity. I guess that is typical of gallery-like shows in ungallery-like spaces.This photo captures some of the detail-obsessed magic of Matthey Eskuche’s glass sculptures.My early thoughts regarding the show still ring true. I think if I were to see Eskuche’s works again I would demand a more sparse display, without the visual clutter of a retail space. I’m curious where he can go from here.

Of course, the correct spelling of the artist’s name is Matthew Eskuche.
