There are so many orphanages in Marash. But your best bet is to ask an Armenian archive like the AGBU Nubarian Library in Paris or the Zohrab Center in New York.

I’m sure every Armenian can relate to this blog & have family that escaped the genocide with their stories untold… right now im 15 and I know alot more about our history than some other people. Usually having a family member involved in something makes you want to learn about it even more. My grandfather also escaped from Spitak when he was 5, though the rest of the family was killed. Obviously he died long before I was born, but his story won’t be forgotten and I want to make sure it doesn’t.

Hi dear Hraj,it was so nice to read the story of your grand parents,my grandmother was born in Van and her family was killed when she was only 2 and she was grew up in orphnage in Betkhehem in Israel.I am her grand child and I’m gonna write the story of my grand grand parents.We are all Armenians we we are proud of being Armenian.I’m so happy to find your article here,good luck and take care
