While Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales testified to the Senate Judiciary Committee today about the controversial dismissal of eight U.S. attorneys, a Code Pink anti-war activist unfurled a banner to suggest that the Attorney General may not be very forthcoming with the truth.
The photo appeared on the front page of the New York Times website and the accompanying article is titled, “Gonzales Faces Anger From Both Sides on Senate Panel.”
The article’s opening paragraph is precious considering the accompanying picture:
Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales encountered anger and skepticism from senators today as he insisted that he had nothing to hide in the dismissals of eight United States attorneys, an episode that has cast a shadow on the Justice Department and brought calls for his resignation.
