Could Sanjaya Really Be an Art Hipster With a Master Plan?

May 26, 2007 by Hrag

I don’t really know what to make of this. I don’t watch “American Idol” but I sure knew who Sanjaya was. I once tuned in specifically to see the man behind the persona.

If this video is true, then the whole Idol thing was a joke…poking fun at television’s irrelevance.

In another blow to traditional media, editor Bill Keller at the New York Times announced that they will undergo a “gradual reallocation of resources from print towards digital” and admitted that “the web environment is different…We can offer guidance but we cannot insist on the same control we exercise over print.” (source)

It’s in step with owner, chairman and publisher, Arthur Sulzberger who said something similar to Haaretz last February, when he remarked, “I really don’t know whether we’ll be printing the Times in five years, and you know what? I don’t care either.” (source)
