Tonight, 60 Armenian and Jewish Americans protested the Anti-Defamation League’s (ADL) refusal to unequivocally state the fact of the Armenian Genocide and support a US Congressional resolution (HR106) that with state the historical reality of that calamity. The rally in front of ADL National Headquarters was part of the continuing effort by Armenian Americans to ensure that no one plays politics with the facts of the Armenian Genocide.

A lively Armenian Folk/Klezmer trio started playing at 7:00pm and the speeches and readings started half an hour later.

Speakers included Dr. Nicole Vartanian, Rabbi Jack Porter, Michael Weiss, Doug Dgeogerian, Sevag Arzoumanian, Alik Arzoumanian, Arthur Nersesian and Robert Kandarjian.

Volunteers handed out flyers to the passersby while large placards proclaimed the slogans: ADL Needs to Go Back to School and Learn that the Armenian Genocide is History Not Politics; 1915 Never Again; No Place for Denial; ADL: Stop Supporting Turkey’s Armenian Genocide Denial.

The event was co-sponsored by the Armenian National Committee and Jewcy.com.
