Interesting tidbits from Armenian-land:

  • Russian Armenian director Anna Melikyan is showing MERMAID (RUSALKA) at Sundance. It is “The fanciful tale of an introverted little girl who grows up believing she has the power to make wishes come true. She must reconcile this belief with reality when, as a young woman, she journeys to Moscow and grapples with love, modernity and materialism.” (Sundance website);
  • Blogian reports on the flegling feminist movement in Karabakh;
  • Armenian Canadian writer Ara Baliozian (who I’ve read since I was a kid) is blogging frequently now…go Ara!;
  • Asbarez of California warns that the ANC-WR video may be banned in Turkey….though I don’t understand why…I think it’s an inflated claim; and
  • Raffi K posts a photo depicting some Ancient Armenian penis sculptures….wow!
