Triangle Artists in Residence 2008: Annette Gödde, Martine Kaczynski, Gregory Forstner will be opening up their studios to the public!
Time: Fri. Sept. 26: 5-8pm, Sat. Sept. 27: 1-7pm, Sun. Sept. 28: 1-7pm, Closing reception: Sun. Sept. 28, 4-7pm
Place: 20 Jay Street, 3rd Floor, Suite 318, Brooklyn, NY 11201 — Click here for directions>>
Annette Gödde combines invented, modelled rooms with short theatric film scenes, whereby collages of different levels of reality and fiction emerge. Thematically she deals with film and media stereotypes.
Martine Kaczynski explores the vernacular architecture of the American landscape. With the site-specific piece in upstate New York she has created a replica of a disused gas station alongside County Route 11.
Gregory Forstner’s paintings mix a wide range of references in a disjointed and humorous mode, often describing archetypal figures in a form of disfiguration. His work is both humorous and uncomfortable, leaving the viewer with profound questions.
