The Brooklyn Museum is charging to subscribe to a Twitter feed? WTF!?!?! Are they lame or maybe they're just smoking crack…you decide…in the meantime, I'll stick to the original Brooklyn Museum twitter account.
According to their official post, they are inviting artists to "work" with Twitter…but the idea of charging for something that is normally free isn't as much unfortunate as a little criminal in my book. I'd rather see artists experiment with their regular feed which can actually at times be dull.
According to their Twitter page: "Join 1stfans for $20/yr to get this benefit of membership. 1stfans Twitter Art Feed features tweets by contemporary artists every month, so join today!"
NO THANKS!

"I venture to suggest that 'metrosexual art historian' is redundant."

There are in fact many answers it seems…
Have you ever gotten a membership to a museum? Usually membership benefits include things that the regular public can’t get, a newsletter, invites to events, etc. The 1stfans program is an online, social media membership. I paid $20/year for the benefits that provides, including art via Twitter.
