The solstice is an important date in cultures without electric lighting. The begining of longer days is a huge deal. That’s probably why so many religious figures were said to be born on that day.
(Note: December 25 was the solstice on the defective Roman Calendar by the time Rome was forcibly Christianized by an emperor.)
