Read a post about two European paintings that have popped up at the Met:
1- Valentin de Boulogne’s “The Lute Player” (c.1626)–bought by the Met last year, and
2- Jacopo Bassano’s “Baptism of Christ” (c.1592)–on loan from a private collection.I love news like this and can’t wait to check out the paintings in person. -

Churchilly is going free culture radical on us. Not only is her play at London’s Jerwood Theatre free but guests will be asked to collect donations for Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP).Also, the script will be available to download for free beginning February 11 from the websites of the Royal Court, Caryl Churchill’s publisher Nick Hern Books and her agents Casarotto Ramsay Ltd.
There will be no charge for performance rights, on the condition that a collection is made for MAP. (via CultureMonster)
