Confirmed: Dead Doe in Front of New Museum Last Month Was Performance Art

I didn’t know what the deal with the dead deer in front of the New Museum on Sunday, Feb. 8 was until now. It was definitely a performance piece by Samizdat titled “Doe Drop : New Museum.”

They’re the same group that let go of “pigeon bombs” at the MoMA and other works that I think provoke poignant questions about the animal/human divide (and speciesism specifically) and mortality in general.
