I’m Reading at Gartal’s Special “An Evening of Literary Pride” (June 20)

agla_gartaljpg I’ll be reading a short story titled “My Small Tiny Gay Armenian Wedding” based on my wedding last December in Toronto for the next edition of the Gartal reading series–Sat. June 20 (6pm) at the LGBT Center in the Village.

Co-presented by Gartal and the Armenian Gay & Lesbian Assoc. of NY (AGLA NY), “An Evening of Literary Pride” has asked writers and poets to read selections related to the issue of pride, as the event falls on the opening weekend of LGBT Pride Week in New York.

The event is hosted by Arthur Nersesian, famed East Village novelist of such books as The Fuckup, Chinese Takeout, and his most recent, The Sacrificial Circumcision of The Bronx.

Nancy Agabian, founder of Gartal & author of the new memoir Me as her again: True Stories of an Armenian Daughter, will introduce the event.

There will be readings by David Ciminello, Amy Ouzoonian, Aaron Poochigian, Margarita Shalina & me (author bios here).
