Tonight, I ventured with one of my interns to Nolita to see some of the works by 28 artists on the roof of Gawker Media’s Elizabeth Street offices. It was more of a party than an art show but that’s not to say it wasn’t worthwhile to see some of the contributions of Lady Pink (also pictured above), Blanco, Goldenstash, Celso, Cern and others.
The whole thing was in honor of James & Marla Murray’s book Store Front: The Disappearing Face of New York from Gingko Press. And the walls of the party–the canvas for the artists–were blown up photos from the book.
I hear the panels with be making a trip to Art Basel this December and they definitely deserve a better venue than a Manhattan rooftop.
