This week has been a mix of joy (at the victory of Barack Obama) and pain (at the passing of Proposition 8 or should we say Prop H8 in California). Part of me wishes that instead of going to Roanoke, Virginia to help with the Presidential election I should’ve traveled to LA or Fresno to help change people’s minds. But I guess I should look at the bigger picture since we all know that inevitably gay marriage will become a reality in America. I have to admit it was remarkable that Obama became the first US President to mention the word “gay” during his acceptance speech.
I am glad there are protests in California and hopefully this isn’t the end.
